Grodan Rockwool |
What is Grodan® Stonewool?
Made from natural melted rocks blown into mineral fibers, Grodan stonewool (generically known as rockwool) has become the preferred choice of soil-less growing worldwide. Using their exlusive Delta® Technology for improved fiber structure and layering, they create perfectly uniform products that are both chemically and biologically inert. This provides a clean medium for growing high quality vegetables, fruits and vibrant flowers.
What Grodan Offers You:
EXPERIENCE
They were the first to develop stonewool for growing plants in 1969. And they have been perfecting it ever since.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
Much of the new Grodan you buy is made from used stonewool. Our recycling activities and low emissions have earned our factories various prestigious European and international environmental certifications such as the ISO 14001, the EMAS and the Dutch Milieukeur Award.
QUALITY Grodan stonewool samples are taken off of the production line every 20 seconds for analysis. If there is a problem, the wool is melted and the process starts again. Such dedication has earned their product the international quality rating ISO 9001.
SUPPORT
Whether you are a beginner or experienced Grodan gardener, they are here to help. Their website offers great information, downloads and the opportunity to contact them directly. We challenge you to find a rockwool manufacturer that offers the same level of technical support as Grodan.

Grodan Gro-Blocks |
| Gro-Blocks are like a ‘container’ to pot-up young seedlings. If you normally would use a 3” pot to transplant your seedling into, then choose a 3” Gro-Block. Small plants can be fully grown in our larger Gro-Blocks. 1.5” A-Ok plugs and Macroplugs fit perfectly into the Gro-Block holes. If transplanting onto a slab, leave white plastic wrapping on, but if going into a loose medium, then remove the plastic. They come in packs labeled with instructions. More Details and Pricing |

Grodan Growcubes |
| Growcubes are small 1/2” cubes of stonewool. There are several advantages to using this loose medium: better aeration due to how the cubes stack on top of each other, maximum drainage from each cube so that you can hardly ever overwater your plant, easily mixes with other loose media (such as expanded clay rocks or CocoCan™ Gro-Mix), lightweight and much cleaner than peat-based media, but with better growth rate. The properties of Growcubes make it like a 50/50 mix of absorbent to repellent stonewool. More Details and Pricing |
