In indoor or off-season greenhouses, the more light your plants get from different directions, the better off they'll be and the faster they'll grow. White paint on the walls and ceiling will reflect between 75 % and 90 % of the light that strikes it. Mylar works best with a diffuse light source like frosted bulbs or a light mover to prevent "hotspots". Eco sells one and two mil. mylar. HINT: When stapling or tacking up mylar, put a piece of tape on the staple spot first, to prevent tearing. Mylar can also be stapled or taped to cardboard, fiberboard or plywood and used on the north or east side of an outdoor garden or flower bed for more light in early spring or late fall. |
